I was reading a lot about Lust For Life at the time and how Iggy would write his lyrics on the spot. And Stipe. I stole an REM tape from Kroger in the late 90s. Nightswimming. I made the bed of music and improvised the lyrics to this song live. I think this ties into the early morning impulse to create. A thread you can’t help but pull. My buddy Eric’s Rhodes he lent me for a few months. We spend so much of our lives masking. When you have to come to terms with being a misfit, its freeing and horrifying. You are an outdoor cat.
